The subtropical setting of Southwest Florida has attracted those seeking a second home to escape the cold and snow. Visitors first come to experience the world-class golf courses, boating, water activities, dining and shopping, and then find they don’t want to leave!
Situated on the Gulf Coast, Naples and Marco Island are known as the “Platinum Coast”. You can expect warm weather, light breezes, bright skies and a passing shower on most days . The Gulf temperature ranges from the mid 60's January through March and up into the mid 80's from June through September.
Living both in Illinois and Florida, I can attest to the fact that Collier County locals have a “Midwest Mentality,” laid back and a positive spirit, with an open and friendly attitude towards meeting new people.
If you are looking for great golf courses, restaurants, shopping and cultural amenities, Naples is the place for you. There are many impressive single-family homes, condominiums and villas available in Naples. Most Naples communities include pools, tennis courts and fitness centers.
Marco Island, Florida
Most of Marco’s condos and houses are on canals or open water. Crescent Beach is lined with luxury high-rises (the island has more than 100 condo buildings), and the view from the upper floors is spectacular — the Gulf water below is a captivating shade of turquoise on sunny mornings. Tigertail Beach attracts birders and shell collectors.
Marco Island prices range from $300,000 for a one bedroom condo to upwards of $10,000,000 for a 5 bedroom beachfront property.
Marco Island is home to world-class beaches. Whether you want to stroll, sight-see or just bask in the warm Florida sand, Marco’s the destination. The Marco Island Area Chamber of Commerce points out that Marco Island includes six miles of beach, with most island resorts located directly on the beach.
South Beach is home to some of Marco’s most spectacular real estate – as well as the enchanting and popular beach itself. Access is through the South Marco Beach access, which includes a 70-car parking lot at Swallow Avenue across from Collier Boulevard from the beach access. Tigertail Beach is equally picturesque, located at the north end of the island. The 31-acre public beach is complex!
